Healing is a harvest. When God’s promises for healing and health are sown into our hearts, the grace of health and healing within begin to grow. Our hearts and minds begin to be shaped by His Word rather than by the words of others, our feelings, or our fears. If we continue to “water” the promises of God in our hearts, they will grow and prosper.
The Word of God is incorruptible seed. It produces according to its nature (life, peace, joy, vision, faith, health), when we receive it into our hearts.
“When you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
The Word “works” in a believing heart much as a seed springs to life in good soil.
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground…. (Mark 4:26-27)
Everything in the Kingdom works according to this principle. The seed is the Word. Everything in life needs to be sowed with the Word of God. Our minds, our bodies, even our spirit man needs the continual influence of the seed of God’s Word. This is how our lives are transformed, our minds renewed, our bodies healed and the kingdom is expanded over the face of the earth!
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh. (Proverbs 4:20-22)
Most of us would declare that we believe God wants us well and that we believe in healing. Most of us believe that watermelons are real. It really doesn’t matter what you say you believe. What matters is what you sow. If you never sow a watermelon seed, you will never harvest watermelons, no matter how much you believe in them. So it is with healing. A seed must be sown. No matter how a healing manifests, it has at its beginning a seed of the Word.
Meditate in God’s Word. Ponder His promises. Envision the Word working in your physical body. Let the harvest of healing spring from the seed of God’s Word.
Grace is infinite potential. So is a seed. There are unlimited resources in the seed of God’s Word. Do some sowing today!
