Eloheenu: The Lord Our God - A Reflection on Psalm 99:5, 8, and 9


"Exalt you the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy. 
You answered them, O LORD our God: you were a God that forgave them, though you took vengeance of their inventions. 
Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy." Psalm 99:5, 8 & 9 

In the sacred verses of Psalm 99, we find profound insights into the nature of our divine Creator. The words echo through time, inviting us to contemplate the majesty and holiness of Eloheenu, the Lord our God. 

Psalm 99:5 - Exalt the Lord our God: 
"Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy." 

In this opening verse, the psalmist calls us to lift our hearts in adoration and reverence for the Almighty. The term "footstool" reminds us of our humble position in comparison to the vastness of God's greatness. To exalt is to lift high, acknowledging the holiness that encompasses the very essence of our Creator. 

Psalm 99:8 - You answered them, O Lord our God: 
"O Lord our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God to them, but an avenger of their wrongdoings."
